"Greetings! I am an ambitious and high-achieving recent graduate of Macalester College, a prestigious liberal arts college in Minnesota. I majored in International Studies and Latin American Studies with minors in Portuguese and History. Out of undergrad, I was selected for a Fulbright Study/Research Scholarship in Brazil, where I did my own history research and studied at Unicamp--one of the best universities in Latin America. In addition to academics, I am a life-long artist with formal training and experience working in galleries, and I have a passion for learning languages.

At Macalester, I held a work study job as a Portuguese "lab" instructor for three years. These enrichment classes (“labs”) included in our Portuguese curriculum provided students with a chance to go more in depth with grammar and vocabulary, practice speaking and writing, train their pronunciation, and gain cultural exposure. I created all of my own lessons and learning materials, enhancing what students learned from the textbook with real-life sources--including articles, music, videos, memes, and slang, in order to give them the best possible exposure to Brazilian culture and the confidence to communicate in Portuguese.

Here are some of the different subjects I can help with:

Humanities: history and social studies, academic reading and writing, qualitative research and research methodologies, theories, critical thinking and analysis, cross-cultural communication;

Foreign Language: general language-learning strategies, English, Portuguese (grammar, conversation practice, pronunciation training, Brazilian culture, etc.), German (fundamentals of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation for English-speakers), French (understanding spelling);

Art: drawing, painting, graphic design (Adobe), collage, journaling, theory (elements, principles, and color), analysis.
