"My name is Urjita. I am an ophthalmology resident physician based in Chicago. I am looking for students who need tutoring for pre-medical requisites (biology, chemistry, physiology), the MCAT, medical school pre-clinical examinations, clinical medical school NBME ('shelf') examinations, and the USMLE Step 1-3 examinations.

I graduated from medical school last year! I passed my USMLE Step 3 exam in October 2025, which is approximately 8 years since I took the MCAT. I am familiar with a broad range of pre-med and medical topics, and enthusiastic about teaching our next generation of doctors. I was a tutor for my school of medicine for four years, and enjoyed seeing pre-medical and medical students succeed.

When teaching students, I use a variety of techniques to help solidify concepts and secure higher test scores. These include: concept maps, flow charts, tables, flashcards, mnemonics, and sketchnoting. I encourage working through practice problems together, and identifying strengths and weaknesses in understanding and knowledge gaps.
