My name is Leo, and I’m a certified English teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, as well as TEFL/TESOL certification. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students ranging from ages 5 to 18 in both classroom and small-group settings—as a Substitute Teacher, Teaching Assistant, and language tutor. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how to support learners at various stages of development, and how to meet them where they are.

My teaching approach is grounded in patience, empathy, and structure. I believe that language learning should feel both safe and challenging—a balance of support and gentle push. I focus on creating a welcoming environment where students can build confidence through curiosity and practice. Whether we’re working on grammar, speaking fluency, reading comprehension, or writing skills, I tailor my lessons to the individual needs and pace of each student. I’ve found that real growth often happens when learners feel seen and respected.

Beyond the classroom, I have a genuine love for cultural exchange and communication. I enjoy learning about different traditions, especially Japanese culture, and I bring that same curiosity into my teaching. In my free time, I like reading, exploring new places, and playing tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons, which help me stay creative and imaginative—skills I also bring into lesson planning.
