"Hello, I'm a retired, experienced, certified elementary school teacher that thoroughly enjoyed teaching for 20 years. I've taught grades 3-6, reading, math, science, and writing. In addition, I have a background in Art, Theatre, and Photography; disciplines that I bring to the classroom to make learning more interesting and creative. I've tutored for the last three years with 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students. I am knowledgeable and very patient.

My goal is to teach students strategies on how to approach a problem, find a proper solution, and help them understand that it's ok to make a mistake and learn from our mistakes. Building self-confidence, learning to problem solve, and acquiring the necessary skills, while feeling comfortable working independently is what I strive for when working with students. I've had a lot of experience teaching Second Language Learners and I am well aware of the problems they face in and out of the classroom.
