"I am a retired college math professor with 30+ years of experience teaching college math courses. In addition to teaching courses like Calculus and Linear Algebra for math and science students, I have taught numerous “math for teachers” courses. I have been tutoring K-12 math students online since 2020, and I have ten years of experience grading the AP Calculus exam (AB and BC).

My primary focus is helping students understand mathematical concepts through the use of pictures, diagrams, interactive software, and verbal descriptions. This understanding then leads naturally to increased proficiency with computational procedures, which I also help students practice. I do not simply tell my students how to solve problems; rather, I help them build on what they already know in order to discover the solutions to new problems.

I hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Oregon. I can help students in any K-12 math course except high school level Statistics.
