"I am a retired professor and public school teacher with many years' experience teaching students in classroom settings and privately, one-to-one. I have worked recently as an Upward Bound tutor in area high schools and as a tutor for elementary and middle school students. I enjoy working with students of all ages. I've also worked with students with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, test anxiety, ASD and ADHD students, and students who have fallen behind in traditional academic settings due to illness or other life circumstances. I am patient, consistent, caring, and encourage and reward my students' persistence. I am adept at assessing students' proficiency in literacy, math, and general study skills and can tutor in reading, writing, math, social studies, and science.
