"Hello! My name is Tova. I am an experienced standardized test and math tutor. I've tutored hundreds of students since 2015 both online and in-person. I specialize in the following tests: SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, and GRE.

My teaching philosophy is centered around probing my students and always asking them "why?" I try to evoke curiosity in my students, and help them understand the complex, bigger picture in whatever they are studying. I seek to truly understand the students that I am teaching. This allows me to take an individualized approach. I build custom curriculums based on my students' specific strengths and weaknesses, and then apply these curriculums with patience and kindness.

I am able to tutor students in Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calc, Calculus, Business Statistics, Trigonometry, and Geometry. Geometry is my favorite math subject, and I leverage my professional career in technical writing to help my students understand how to write proofs. I also am able to tutor students to prepare for the quantitative/math sections of the SAT, ACT, GRE, ISEE, SSAT, CPT, PSAT, and HSPT tests.

In addition, I truly enjoy reading and writing. I offer essay writing workshops, grammar lessons, and tutoring the for the AP Lit/Lang tests. I also am able to offer tutoring for the Reading/English/Writing sections of the SAT, ACT, GRE, ISEE, SSAT, PSAT, and HSPT tests.
