"Hello, everyone! My name is Justin, and I’m an incoming freshman at Stanford University majoring in management science and engineering. I took the SAT three times and got a perfect math score on each one. Additionally, I am a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and an AP Scholar with Distinction. While the world of math and numbers has always enthralled me, it wasn't until recently that I discovered my passion for tutoring and mentoring kids. Over the last three years, I've been tutoring high school kids in various math topics such as pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus. I've also spent over 100 hours teaching the SAT Math and ACT Math curriculums, helping several of my peers achieve consistent 750+ Math section scores on the SAT or 34+ Math section scores on the ACT.

As a math tutor, I believe that fostering a love for learning and an appreciation for the beauty of mathematics is key to unlocking each student's potential. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel safe to explore, make mistakes, and ask questions. I use a personalized approach, tailoring lessons to match each student's unique learning style and pace, ensuring that concepts are not only understood but also appreciated. I aim to instill confidence and a sense of achievement in my students by encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset.

Beyond math, I strive to be a friend and mentor that my students feel safe reaching out to for advice, especially regarding the college admissions process. As someone who recently went through applying to over 20 colleges, I know firsthand how stressful applications can be. I’m more than happy to review any essays or materials my students want and share everything I've learned about the college application process that helped me get into some of the country's most selective colleges, such as Stanford and Columbia University." less...
