"I am biomedical engineer during the day time, but I still enjoy tutoring and helping others learn.
As a graduate of the engineering program at The City College of New York, I understand what it means to be lost in an academic subject and to be in dire need of help from someone who can easily explain concepts in a concise, but thorough manner. I have been tutored and I have worked as a tutor in my school and outside of school. I understand when a student might be sitting in class and is completely lost; the teacher has her/his limits on how much time s/he can go over the same material, but as a tutor, I am willing to go the extra mile to make sure my students understand all the key concepts needed for them to understand and succeed in their courses. When a student does not understand with one approach I use, I try to show them the concept through a different approach.
Subject that i have tutored includes college level General Physics 1 & 2, Calculus 1 & 2, Precalculus, Algebra, and General Chemistry 1 & 2. I am a saxophone player and music instructor in my church as well as one of the band leaders; I am able to tutor in introductory music theory as well as beginner saxophone. After each lesson, I would assign the student a homework for them to work on so that when I meet with them the next session, I can assess if they are truly understanding the material.
After each session, I would like to receive feedback from the student regarding how the lessons have been going. I also expect the student to be ready for each tutoring session with his study material and a notebook they can use to take notes.
I am flexible with scheduling and I am attached to my phone. So if a change to a scheduled appointment needs to be made, an hour prior notice is suffice. I hope to hear from you soon!" less...
