"Hello, my name is Ethan and I am a current student at San Diego State University with a Major in Computer Science and Mathematics with a specialization in Computational Science. I focus a lot on breaking problems down step by step and explain how these methods work. This allows students to build the foundation they need instead of just getting the answer. I currently hold a High School Diploma and have a lot of tutoring and teaching experiences.

I have done a semester of tutoring with Thinkist in my Senior Year of High School. As a volunteer, I was able to teach two middle school students, with one-on-one teaching, about Mathematics and help raise their grades up to an A. They showed me some homework problems and I helped guide them through the ideas. They started the work and whenever they got stuck, I jumped in to help them, working on becoming metasocratic instead of just telling them how to do it. During this time, I also had classes once a week, talking about how to become a better tutor and how to help students learn without the need for someone there to help them.

I am also currently at Code Ninjas, where I teach kids ages 7-18 coding, and have been here for about 4 months. Whether they are just starting out or already know how to code, I help them whenever they need help. When they need help, I problem solve on the spot helping them out while explaining what the code does and how it relates to everyday life so they really understand. We also work on Unity, Robotics, and Roblox, creating a fun and safe place for kids to work on things they love.
