"I am in my final semester at Ohio University studying Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have three years of experience in the classroom, preschool-5th grade. I have worked with students over 1,000 hours of volunteer placements for school. I started with preschool for one year, spending two days every week for 30 weeks. I then went to a kindergarten classroom two days a week for 15 weeks and a 5th grade classroom for 15 weeks. I am now in my final year of college in a 3rd grade classroom. I will go five days a week starting in January. My GPA is 3.99 for the time I've been in school.

I am also pursuing a coaching minor and working with many athletes. I swim in college and manage my time efficiently. I received my subbing license at the school I'm working at now and have had opportunities to substitute at different elementary age levels. After my senior year, I will pursue a master's degree in Reading Education at Ohio University. I've done a lot of reading and phonics work with students at different levels. I feel confident about assessing and planning activities related to phonological awareness, comprehension, and fluency. I also enjoy teaching math at the elementary grade level. I have passed both the Foundation Reading OAE and the Primary Education PK-5 OAE to get my teaching license. I have been working on the edTPA this semester and will turn it in this year, 2025.
