"My name is Shelly and I am 54 years old. I have a math degree from Washington College in Maryland and my teaching certification is from California University in California PA. I have been teaching at the same school district for the past 24 years. The courses that I have taught have changed throughout the years but has most recently included, Algebra 1, College Algebra and AP Statistics. I have a passion for math especially Algebra topics. This is my first time tutoring using Wyzant but I do have experience tutoring and teaching online.

In the course of my career I have had many experiences tutoring in person. Lately though my tutoring has of course changed to the online format. While this is definitely more challenging, it does provide the opportunity to tutor a much wider group of students. For me the best part of tutoring is teaching students that want to learn and want to be part of the experience. Seeing them succeed is the best reward.

I have been teaching for 24 years in many many math courses. I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Probability and Statistics, College Algebra, and AP Statistics to name a few.

I look forward to tutoring more students and showing them my love of mathematics and helping students learn to love (or at least like) it as well. I would love to teach students of all ages!" less...
