I graduated high school in the full IB program with a total score of 45, including 7s in Literature HL, History HL, Biology HL, French SL, Math Studies SL, and Global Politics SL. I also scored a 34 on the ACT and a 1520 on the SAT, and have done test prep for standardized tests, largely focused on the reading, english, and science sections.
I find that success in the IB program largely depends on individualized help, pattern recognition, and efficient preparation and studying. I've picked up a lot of tips and tricks over the years to make the most out of your time and get the results you want to see. I love to see students gain confidence and academic skills and technique that they can carry beyond our sessions into their future!
I also offer debate coaching! I debated for many years as a competitive state and national debater (traditional circuits) in LD, Congressional, and Extemporaneous Debate. I qualified for NSDA Nationals 3 times in Congress and LD, took 2nd, 2nd, and 3rd at my state tournament in LD, and placed 10th in Extemporaneous Debate at NSDA Nationals my junior year. I competed on the college level in American Parliamentary, and placed at multiple national-level tournaments. Since tutoring, several of my students have gone on to break, place, and champion at their own tournaments, including placing in the top ten at NSDA nationals. My work with debate students focuses on teaching repeatable drills, giving actionable feedback, and building large-level strategic thinking that students can use on any topic. Debate is one of my biggest passions and I love to help others get better at debating!
