"I earned my Master of Secondary Education (Humanities, Licensure Track) from Grand Canyon University in May 2025, where I studied curriculum, instruction, assessment, special education, and ELL strategies. I also hold a B.A. in History with a minor in Education from the University of South Carolina (Magna Cum Laude) and an Associate Degree in General Studies from Mohawk Valley Community College, where I also earned a coaching certificate.
I’ve taught in several settings. Most recently, I led a three-week summer school course in U.S. and World History for the North Kingstown School Department, designing daily lessons and assessments aligned to state standards. I focused on inquiry-based instruction, engagement, and adapting material for a wide range of learners.
In spring 2025, I completed a 15-week student teaching placement at Wickford Middle School in 7th and 8th grade U.S. History and World Geography. I took over full planning, teaching, and grading responsibilities for multiple weeks and participated in IEP meetings and professional development.
During the 2024–25 school year, I worked full-time as a building substitute in North Kingstown through ESS. I covered K–12 classrooms, including a long-term 9th grade English assignment where I handled all instructional duties. I’m familiar with tools like Canvas, Aspen, Clever, GoGuardian, and SmartPass.
I’ve worked with students from elementary through high school, mostly in classroom settings, but also one-on-one and in small groups. I aim to build strong relationships and create a respectful, structured, and engaging learning environment. My instruction is student-centered and discussion-driven, with a focus on inclusion, clear expectations, and connecting content to students’ lives." less...
