"I am a PhD Candidate and lecturer with the University of Utah. I am a first generation student. I started my career as a photojournalist in the U.S. Army. Afterward, I obtained my Associate’s in Behavioral and Social Sciences, Bachelor’s in Sociology, Master’s in Social Work, and am presently obtaining my PhD in social work. I’m also a registered associate clinical social worker with the State of California.

I presently teach undergraduate level social work with students in a vast range of ages and experiences. My philosophy is to meet people where they are, building upon their understanding.

I have written and co-authored peer-reviewed work (e.g. book chapters, journal articles, conference presentations, thesis), scoping and systematic reviews, policy briefs, and reports. I am well-trained in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research and interpretation." less...
