"I graduated from High School in '09 with honors before attending Kent State University. I majored in Physics and completed multiple research projects in particle and nuclear physics as an undergraduate. Most notably, I attended a prestigious internship program at the University of Illinois for 10 weeks during the summer of 2012. I then graduated from Kent State in '13 summa cum laude, with an in-major GPA of 3.92. Now I'm a software engineer in Hudson, OH working on ERP software for the fluid power industry.

I'm looking to get back into teaching (I tutored for a year up at Kent and I loved it) so that I can help individuals succeed in even the most difficult subjects.

Math has always been my strong suit and it's what led me to so much success throughout my physics degree. While completing over 5 semesters of Calculus (in addition to 15+ upper division physics courses), I never received less than an A- in a math or physics class. Not only am I able to understand the material but I can communicate it effectively. I prefer to lead by example and clarify my motivations and intuitions as I work a problem to completion. I can be an impactful instructor at any level up to and including undergraduate rigor.

I made physics work for me by always looking at it through a mathematical lens. My default approach is to break problem scenarios down to the known and unknown before leveraging available equations in order to complete the story, so to say. When needed, I am able to take a step back and ask why an equation makes sense, usually by considering real-world experience, data or physical intuition. I feel having conversations with this type of architecture will lead to an efficient learning pathway.

Beyond my academic and professional credentials, I'd be a good fit as a tutor because I'm laid back and willing to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels. I'll strive for the best interaction possible, getting you to learn with a thorough understanding, because your success is my success." less...
