"I was in all advanced classes in high school and one year even took 2 math classes, it was tough, but I made it. I have taken many classes in special education, and am almost finished with my degree -- one year left! I have observed in different grade levels including kindergarten, fourth grade, and junior high. During those observations, I also taught lessons that I prepared myself. For one class, I worked one on one with an 8th grade girl with Down syndrome. That was a great experience. I love learning myself, and find joy in helping others. There may be some things that I cannot answer right away, but give me a book and it will all come back to me!

I have a 5 year old daughter in kindergarten and believe reading is very important. I actually have her enrolled in after school tutoring. I could help her myself, but I know she will get more out of it being with someone other than her mother." less...
