"I have 9 years experience in learning the Spanish language, 14 years in learning French. I did a study abroad in Sevilla, Spain for a semester where I lived with a host mom who only spoke Spanish! This past summer, I did a professional development course in Salamanca, Spain where we also only spoke the Spanish language. In my household we speak Spanish as my fiancé is from Honduras. I am not a native speaker, but every day I continue to work towards perfecting my speech and improving my fluency!

I am very flexible in my teaching style so I can customize to what my students need.

In elementary, I play a lot of games and use songs in instruction. I focus primarily on vocabulary and basic conversations with these students. Speaking and listening skills are focused in on with this level.

In middle school, I focus on vocabulary, basic conjugations, and also simple writing prompts. Speaking and listening skills are focused in on with this level.

In high school, I focus on conversational, writing, listening, and reading skills. I love to give real-world examples for my students and teach them things they would encounter in real life conversations with native speakers.

I love incorporating culture and discussing the differences between Spanish speaking countries and the vocabulary they all use. This is discussed more with upper level students, but is appropriate with all if they are interested. I am very attentive to pronunciation.
