If after reading, you think our personalities might mesh well, please don’t hesitate to send me a message. I love working with curious minds. I'd also like to learn more about you and your interests.
As a bilingual educator in the classroom for 15+ years in high and middle school, and online for 5+ years, I've had the joy of seeing students enjoy their learning process.
I’m a proud graduate of TCU in Texas. Studied Spanish and Latin American studies. Had the greatest study abroad year in Chile. Since graduating, I’ve traveled to a new Spanish-speaking country each year to continue immersing myself.
I received my Master’s in Education from the University of California Santa Barbara where I learned to create fun learning experiences. Surfing was also an important part of our education :)
I believe all people, at *any* age, can learn a 2nd language and enjoy exploring their 1st language. I teach with an immersive, communicative, reading/writing approach to guide you to a more proficient level. The key is having room to try out stuff you’ve learned, in context, which builds up your confidence and motivates you to keep going.
From day 1, we are speaking the target language. Just watch your skills soar! We have a no-judgement zone, where ‘errors’ are encouraged. We want you to grow within the ZPD. What’s that? The psychologist Vygotsky came up with the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), the gap between what a learner can do independently and what they can achieve with guidance.
So, if you think we could work well together, I’d love to be part of your educational journey. Send me a message today!" less...
