"I love to teach Spanish. It is a true passion of mine and something I excel at for learners of all levels. I work with children and adults alike and I am as equally comfortable with basic Spanish as I am with advanced conversational and honors level Spanish. As a parent of three teens in school, I am familiar with current teaching styles and Spanish courses and work well with kids of all levels. I can speak and tutor in all dialects and can even speak/teach Castilian Spanish (Spain). I will adapt and work with any learning style and can craft lessons as needed for any student or simply adjust to the materials they already have. I can teach Spanish from the perspective of English and oftentimes find myself re-teaching English grammar to help my students understand things better. Whether your goal is to learn Spanish for personal or business reasons or you simply need help with a class at school, I am ready to help.

This experience of teaching Spanish - I have been studying and speaking Spanish for over 35 years and have been teaching for over 15 years - has also led to working as an ESL instructor. I enjoy working with students of any language background and use them same skills I use in Spanish to help in learning English.

Here is a little bit about me:

I am a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Houghton College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and International Studies. I spent time at the University of Granada in Spain at the School of Translation and Interpretation to study Spanish language, literature and culture.

These studies have been followed up with graduate work at the Alliance Theological Seminary in intercultural studies/missions and a Master's of Arts degree in the Social Sciences from Montclair State University which concentrated on anthropological and intercultural studies.
