"Welcome to my page! My name is Maria C. and I am currently in my 17th year of teaching. I have taught kindergarten and first grade as a general education teacher. I then made the switch to special education and never looked back! Out of my 14 years as a special education teacher, 14 have been working in autism classrooms. I am T.E.A.C.C.H. trained and I have experience with all grade levels from kindergarten through high school seniors.

I have tutored in my home and the homes of students and enjoy the 1:1 connections. I could also help families with more functional and/or behavioral concerns you may have. Please note that I am NOT a B.C.B.A., however, I have learned a lot in my 14 years with autistic students on every point on the spectrum. While I have worked with students of all ages, I am most comfortable with elementary aged students.

I have taught math at the elementary school level for 13 years. This includes modifications for helping those who need more visual or tactile support to learn.

I have taught almost exclusively in autism specific classrooms and would love to help make life and learning easier for your special needs child, whether on the spectrum or not!
