I'm currently a special education teacher. I would love to make extra money and tutor your child.

In addition to that experience, I also have experience with people of special needs as I have a brother with Down syndrome. I taught him how to communicate his basic needs in simple sentence format.

What I love about teaching is the ability to enhance someone's life with a skill that they didn't have prior (knowledge in this case); and this thought alone is powerful to me. I especially love to teach/tutor one on one because it's more personal and special to me whenever I see a student have that 'ah-ha' moment of them understanding the material.

I have taught K-5 for special education. I have also taught 4th grade common core math, 1st grade common core math and 1st grade engage New York math curriculum.

When it comes to sounding out the words, I've told my first grade students to 'stretch' out words as they're sounding words out. I also try to make learning reading/english as interactive as possible. I have also taught science to my students and I do as many hands on experiments with them as possible.
