"I graduated from Eureka College with a degree in Special Education. After graduation I worked as a substitute teacher and a paraprofessional in a local elementary school. I am currently tutoring one child 1-2 times per week in reading and language arts.

I thoroughly enjoy working with students one-on-one and in small groups. I also enjoy the challenge of planning and implementing instructional activities that keep students engaged and are at their instructional level. Above all, I dearly value the relationships I establish with students and love watching them share more and more about themselves as time passes.

I am very comfortable teaching algebra and pre-algebra math concepts. I was responsible for 8th grade math instruction as part of student teaching. I am able to easily break down math concepts and help students find real-world applications.

I received a score of 30 on the English component of the ACT and a score of 28 in reading. Throughout college I edited and proofread many papers for my friends and classmates. I am well-versed in many instructional programs and activities that help students of all ages improve their skills in language arts.
