"Hi, I’m Emelia! I graduated from Bowdoin College in 2024, where I majored in neuroscience and played varsity lacrosse. As a Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar (awarded to the top 20% of my class), I balanced my rigorous academic schedule with meaningful extracurriculars, including research and leadership roles on my team. I just finished my master’s in Biomedical Science at the University of Pittsburgh and will be starting at Pitt Med in August.

Throughout my education, I’ve always valued the close, interactive learning environment of small classes, where I could engage deeply with professors and peers. This experience inspired me to share my love of learning as a tutor. Recently, I’ve enjoyed tutoring 6th graders in math over Zoom, focusing on building their confidence and enthusiasm for the subject. My tutoring experience extends to working with elementary through high school students as a lacrosse coach, where I developed the skills to tailor my teaching approach to different age groups and learning styles.
