"I graduated from Stanford University in 2019, with a degree in Classics (with honors) and German. In 2021 I completed an M.A. in Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto's Centre for Medieval Studies.
As a homeschooled student k-12, I started studying Latin at a young age, and it quickly became my greatest academic passion. For several years, I competed in many Latin and Greek-related contests, winning national awards for my proficiency in the Classics. Early on, I started coaching and tutoring other students, and found the experience both enjoyable and rewarding. Helping people understand and excel where understanding and excellence seemed impossible--this has driven me to seek every opportunity to help others academically, as I find great joy and fulfillment in doing so.
For the two years, before I started at Stanford, I took classes at a local college, where I worked as a peer tutor of both Latin and Math, as well as tutoring younger students independently. The students I have tutored thank me again and again for helping them enjoy and succeed in what was often their worst class. When tutoring, I learn about the student's strengths and weaknesses, which I then use to create a unique method of learning for each person. I am ready to work at whatever pace is necessary for the student to fully grasp not only the right answer, but why it is right and how to achieve it with more ease. Learning is a journey, and I hope to help make it one full of wonder and excitement.
In all, I have studied Latin for 15 years, won numerous NJCL classics awards in middle and high school, and am on my way to my second degree in a Latin-focused field.
My professional experience includes 2 years as a research assistant to Stanford Classics department chair, 2 years of on-campus employment at Stanford's career resources center, editor for Stanford's classics undergraduate research journal, and full-time experience in the education industry.
