"Hi, I look forward to working with your student! I am a test prep specialist with nearly a decade of experience teaching the SAT, ACT, and advanced high-school STEM coursework. Currently a graduate student at Stanford majoring in Biomedical Data Science, I obtained my STEM undergraduate degree from a top UC. My background includes over eight years of graduate-level training and academic research, which has given me the ability to break down tricky concepts clearly, listen patiently, and help your student gain learning confidence over time!
I work primarily with high-school sophomores and juniors preparing for the SAT, but I also tutor college students and advanced learners. Over the past four years, I have taught both one-on-one and in classroom settings of up to 30 students. My teaching style is structured, supportive, and results-driven. Students often say my explanations help concepts “finally click” and make challenging material feel manageable.
Subjects I teach include the SAT (all sections) and ACT, GRE, and GMAT exams, math from Pre-Calc/Algebra I/II through Calculus and Statistics, AP Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, and Computer Science A, as well as reading comprehension, grammar, essay writing, and academic or thesis writing spanning from high school through graduate and professional levels.
My academic awards include an NIH T32 pre-doctoral training grant, a Genetics Training Grant, the President’s Award in Biotechnology at Georgetown University, a Best SBIR Business Pitch award, and the UCLA Undergraduate Research Award with Honors Thesis distinction.
Past academic credentials, GPA and test scores:
UCLA GPA 3.75; UCSD M.S. GPA 3.5; Stanford M.S. GPA 3.5; SAT 1540 (780 Math, 760 Reading)
Scores of 5 in AP Biology, AP Physics, and AP Chemistry; 4 in AP Calculus and AP U.S. History." less...
