"Hi there! My name is Anna. I’m a recent Stanford graduate, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science, and I’m currently a teacher resident in the California Bay Area. I’ve been tutoring for several years, supporting learners from upper elementary math through middle and high school topics, as well as SAT preparation. I am scheduled to complete my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in May and my Master’s in Education in August of next year. Teaching and tutoring are more than just academic work for me—they are about helping students feel confident, capable, and supported in their learning.

In my tutoring sessions, I focus on building strong understanding and problem-solving skills, not just getting through homework. I take a patient, step-by-step approach and adapt my explanations to fit how each student learns best. I use clear visuals, real-world examples, and guided practice to help students make sense of concepts and gain independence over time. I regularly check for understanding and adjust the pacing as needed, so students feel challenged but never overwhelmed.

I work with learners of all abilities and have experience supporting students with learning differences, IEPs, and diverse learning needs. I believe every student can make progress when they feel safe asking questions and are given the right tools and encouragement. My goal is to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students can build skills, confidence, and a more positive relationship with math.
