"Hi, I'm Sam! I've recently graduated with a Master's Degree in Geophysics from Stanford University, before that I received my bachelor's degree in Physics from Reed College where I spent three years teaching an introductory physics lab section.

Beside fostering a curiosity for the natural sciences, I also strongly believe that reading and writing are essential tools for personal growth, critical thinking, and self-expression. I read widely even now - about 30 to 50 books a year - and can speak to the purpose of building a strong reading habit. I specialize in personal essay writing, helping student's craft compelling narratives based on their own experiences with clarity and purpose, and to see their story in a new light. I am currently working with students to start drafting college essays - its a great time to start to avoid a rush in the fall.
