"Hi! My name is Isabelle, and I am a PhD student at Stanford University in the Oceanography Department studying physical oceanography, environmental fluid mechanics, and coral reefs. I'm currently on a gap year from my studies and am tutoring in the interim!
I'm from Los Angeles and graduated as a Valedictorian and an International Baccalaureate Diploma recipient from high school with a 4.4 GPA. I did my undergraduate degree at the University of California Berkeley in Civil and Environmental Engineering and completed a National Science Foundation oceanography research internship at Duke University during my final summer at school. I then worked as a math and remote learning tutor for the year following while continuing my research at Duke remotely during the pandemic. I then moved to New York City and worked as Sustainability Engineer helping companies reduce their greenhouse gas emissions until starting my PhD last year.
I would love to tutor your elementary, middle, or high school student in math or science! I've tutored math since my senior year of high school and am currently working with multiple middle and high school students. I have experience tutoring in the following math subjects: AP and Regular Calculus, IB Math SL, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Algebra, Pre-Algebra, and Geometry. I am also experienced and available for tutoring in Environmental/Earth Science, French, and multiple subject organizational/school management skills.
I have a strong work ethic, am highly organized, and am an interdisciplinary and creative thinker. I am also a watercolor and charcoal artist, run my own handmade jewelry brand, and love surfing, snowboarding, skating, and live music! Please reach out if you think I'd be a good fit for your child and I would be happy to chat further!" less...
