"Extremely experienced and enthusiastic math tutor at your service! I have rare qualifications: a math PhD from Stanford, a record of exceptional achievement on contests, including an International Math Olympiad gold medal and excellent performance on the AMC and AIME, and more than a decade of tutoring. I'm a creative and passionate educator committed having my students succeed and find joy in mathematics.
I have a very wide range of experience -- I've tutored kids from age 4 to college. I've taught college classes such as linear algebra and calculus, I've worked for Art of Problem Solving for 6+ years (including rewriting a class), and I have experience with the standard elementary curriculums, such as Singapore, Math Mammoth, Saxon, and Beast Academy. I've taught almost all the AoPS classes -- starting with Prealgebra, continuing through Geometry, Introduction to Number Theory and Introduction to Counting & Probability and through Precalculus, Intermediate Algebra, and Calculus. I'm also an expert on math competitions, including AMC 8, AMC 10, AMC 12, AIME, USAMO, IMO, Mathcounts, the Math Kangaroo, the Math Olympiad for Elementary Students (MOEMS), ARML, and the USA Math Talent Search (USAMTS)
I'm also an expert in accelerating gifted younger children. I homeschool my kids and my 7th grader recently got 1560 on the SAT. I've worked with kids who are finishing up elementary math at ages 6/7 and know how to move ahead with younger learners while preserving their enthusiasm for mathematics and making sure they get a solid, thorough education without conceptual gaps.
I also have experience helping math click for struggling learners. I've worked with neurodivergent kids and have handled executive functioning challenges for kids with ADHD. Nothing gives me as much satisfaction as seeing the "aha!" look on a student's face, and that's regardless of the subject they're working on or their mathematical ability.
Please reach out if you have a question. I look forward to working with you!" less...
