"Hello! I’m Manuel Mesa. I have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University. Prior to Stanford, I earned the Superintendent’s Diploma of Distinction. My high school honors include the AP National Scholar Award and National Merit Semifinalist designation, where I scored in the top percentile in the school-administered PSAT. Currently, I am a high school mathematics teacher.

My aim is to meet students at their level and take an incremental approach. In the past I have instructed students in Algebra I, Algebra 2, and IB Mathematics both as a private tutor and volunteer. My first objective is to determine strengths and weaknesses. From there I structure a plan that makes use of assigned work and visualization. Our lessons will consist of interactive examples to illustrate conceptual understanding, followed by independent analysis. The expectation is that you come to our lessons ready to engage and think critically. With discipline, diligence and the right attitude your academic goals are within reach.

I have a passion for education and mathematical analysis. As an undergraduate student at Stanford University I had the privilege of researching transport phenomenon in two groups. The approach to collaboration and inquiry I learned from my research is something I will bring to our lessons. Curiosity and rigor are two facets of that approach.
