My name is Eric Christopher and I am on the cusp of graduating with honors from Pikes Peak State College with three associate's degrees in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science intent to further my education as a dual-major Physicist and Electrical Engineer at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The STEM fields caught my eye from a very young age and I began to apply myself towards learning more about science. This healthy curiosity eventually grew until I found my first physics book and fell in love with the subject. Throughout my time spent with the topic I became somewhat weary of how little depth some math was being touched upon so I took it upon myself to do the extra legwork there and I accidentally developed a healthy love for computer programming along the way too.

I previously worked with children on a remote basis in the past and do not have a large amount of professional tutoring experience. However, I have aided my younger sibling in gaining a better understanding of math many times over the years due to them having a number of learning disabilities. So, It is something that I have some experience and empathy with and I have thought carefully over the years about how to better approach helping my sibling. When it comes to mathematics the approach I often take follows the lead of differentiated learning. A recent example is that my partner was having trouble comprehending the binomial coefficient summation for an introductory statistics course. I slowly walked through the problem with them to identify where the student was encountering snags and then investigated why until I had whittled things down to realizing they needed a review on factorials, the summations and such weren't confusing them. So, I put everything away and practiced the basics of factorials until they felt confident enough to move on to algebraic notation and then finally we returned to the binomial coefficient summation and worked through the problem on the same page.
