"Kailot earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University and a B.S. from Tufts University with a double major in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics, alongside a minor in Mandarin Chinese. Kailot is also a native French speaker and proficient in Spanish.
Kailot knows that traditional schooling formats, especially online and remote settings, don't give every student the attention and personalized learning experience they deserve. Kailot is committed to providing lessons, study planning, and goal-setting for their students that meets each student where they are at. Kailot is excited to help students from diverse backgrounds and experiences build a strong foundation for lifelong learning while improving course grades, enhancing test scores, and generally building positive, healthy study habits. Kailot is aware that each student's emotional well-being is vital to their academic success and tries to take a holistic approach to education that doesn't elevate test scores above student wellness, but sees the two as intertwined.
Kailot has an outstanding record with standardized mathematics exams (SAT, GRE, AP, etc.), even competing in math competitions in High School. As an undergrad Kailot fed their passion for math by adding a second major in the subject, and they continued to learn advanced mathematics in their PhD studies. As a PhD student, Kailot was the teaching assistant for a graduate level mathematics coursed designed for Chemical Engineering PhD students. Kailot's teaching and tutoring experience also includes pro-bono tutoring of middle school students in math.
