"Greetings! I am a Research Associate III with a solid foundation in Molecular Biology, specializing in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). With a passion for scientific discovery, I have developed a wealth of hands-on experience in molecular research through my work at prominent research institutions.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a Minor in Chemistry, from Xavier University of Louisiana. My journey in molecular biology began as a Biology Research Assistant at the Tulane Cancer Center, which led to my role as a Molecular Technologist specializing in NGS. To further my expertise, I completed a Master of Science in Biotechnology with a Concentration in Bioinformatics. I am currently advancing my knowledge in the field through an Applied Bioinformatics Certificate Program at UC San Diego.
While I’ve gained extensive research experience, I also have a deep interest in education and mentoring. I have previously served as a Teaching Assistant for Calculus during my undergraduate studies, where I helped students grasp complex concepts and fostered a collaborative learning environment. Although I haven’t tutored formally yet, I am excited to begin helping students in areas like Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Calculus, and Statistics.
My tutoring approach will combine preparation with flexibility. I plan to come to each session well-prepared, but I believe that the session itself should guide the learning process. This allows me to adapt to different learning styles, whether visual, hands-on, or more theoretical. I’m committed to fostering a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the material at their own pace.
As I continue expanding my expertise in bioinformatics and molecular biology, I look forward to helping others navigate their academic journeys and contribute to the ever-evolving fields of biotechnology and personalized medicine." less...
