"Hi! I’m Aleigha, and I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s (online) in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Rutgers University. I’ve spent the last 2–3 years tutoring and teaching, mostly at the college level, where I’ve helped students in math and physics courses. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a Maine Learning Assistant (MLA), where I supported students in both classroom and one-on-one sessions—covering topics such as mechanics, electricity and magnetism, calculus, and differential equations. I also did especially well in general chemistry and often helped classmates work through challenging concepts, even though I didn’t officially tutor that subject.
In addition to college-level tutoring, I’ve also participated in outreach events where I helped explain physics and STEM concepts to K–12 students in fun, hands-on ways. I enjoy making science accessible and exciting, regardless of a student’s age or experience level. My tutoring style is built around patience, clarity, and adaptability. I work to create a welcoming space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. I focus on breaking complex ideas into smaller, digestible pieces and helping students connect the "why" behind what they're learning.
My goal is always to help students feel confident—not just in solving problems, but in truly understanding the material and believing in their ability to succeed. I’m easy to reach, open to feedback, and always happy to adjust my approach to meet each student’s needs. If you have any questions or want to schedule a session, feel free to reach out—I’d love to help!" less...
