"I am currently pursuing a degree in engineering at Santa Barbara City College, where I’ve built a strong foundation in mathematics through coursework in algebra, calculus, statistics, and the sciences. I began tutoring four years ago during high school, working one-on-one and in small groups to support students in math. After transitioning to college, I continued tutoring at the SBCC Math Lab, where I helped students in a drop-in setting with subjects ranging from pre-algebra to calculus. I also currently tutor in the Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) Lab, where I support students with various learning accommodations in both math and study skills.

My tutoring style is student-centered, adaptable, and grounded in patience. I focus on building conceptual understanding first, then guiding students through problem-solving using clear, step-by-step explanations. I tailor my approach to match each student’s learning style, whether that’s through visuals, analogies, or hands-on practice. I’ve worked with students of all ages, but most of my experience is with high school and college-level learners. My goal in every session is not just to help students pass, but to make sure they feel confident and capable in the subject.

Having worked in both structured settings and one-on-one environments, I’ve learned how to break down complex topics into manageable parts and create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions. My years of experience, combined with my continued academic focus on working towards my Mechanical Engineering degree, make me well prepared to tutor students in a wide range of math and science topics." less...
