"Hi there! I’m Alex. I hold Bachelor’s degrees (with Honors) in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from UC Berkeley, and a Master’s in Statistical Science from UC Santa Cruz. I’ve worked with students at many levels — from high school through graduate coursework.

Before grad school, I spent a year as a high school math substitute teacher. Since completing my Master’s, I’ve tutored a wide range of subjects including Calculus, Discrete Math, Algorithms, Probability Theory, and Bioinformatics.

In my sessions, I plan ahead with clear examples and targeted practice problems. I’ve found that working through problems together in real time is the best way to identify challenges, strengthen intuition, and build lasting confidence.
