"I’m Jennifer, an RN and Nursing Educator with more than 20 years of clinical experience and 6 years of formal teaching experience in vocational and associate-degree nursing programs. I earned my LVN and ADN from San Jacinto College, followed by my BSN and MSN-Ed from Grand Canyon University, and I currently serve as a nursing professor for LVN students.
My teaching background includes classroom instruction, clinical rotations, simulation development, skills training, exam preparation, and case-based learning across Fundamentals, Med-Surg, pharmacology, and dosage calculation. I’ve worked with a wide range of learners—from recent high-school graduates entering their first healthcare program to adult students in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s returning to school or changing careers.
Over the years, I’ve taught using multiple evidence-based methods, including visual learning tools, guided NCLEX-style questioning, Socratic dialogue, clinical reasoning models, hands-on demonstration, scenario debriefing, and structured remediation. My students consistently say that I explain concepts clearly, break down difficult content into manageable parts, and create a supportive, judgment-free learning environment.
In addition to teaching full cohorts, I’ve provided one-on-one and small-group tutoring for students needing focused instruction in Med-Surg, Fundamentals, Dosage Calculations, NCLEX preparation, and test-taking strategies. Whether in the classroom, clinical setting, simulation lab, or individualized tutoring sessions, my goal is always the same: to help learners build confidence, strengthen clinical judgment, and truly understand the “why” behind nursing practice.
I’m passionate about helping students succeed, no matter their background or learning style, and I look forward to supporting you on your path to becoming a safe, confident, and capable nurse." less...
