"I am currently a graduate student of Computer Science with a focus on Cybersecurity and Software Engineering, and I have also taught as a Teaching Assistant in an academic setting.
My responsibilities as a TA included directly interfacing with undergraduate students in programming classes and teaching C++, Python, and Java, along with data structures, algorithms, and basic computer science concepts. I organized through participation in classroom programming assignments, office hours, code review approaches to program development and debugging, and step-by-step comprehension of complex course material.
In addition, I've also had internship experience with multiple companies, including a commercial bank and worked full time at a tech startup company, implementing the same concepts for practical application in the real world. For example, many of the same concepts and tools covered in my classes teach Python, REST APIs, Machine Learning, and even some cryptographic concepts were used implemented in the real world and the same programs my employers expected me to use to create applications, so I can bring my students through processes to show them not only how something works but also why it matters, as well as how it can be implemented in real-world projects.
In addition, my tutoring style is patient and conversational. I have experience tutoring college students one-on-one and in group settings for 2 years, and I understand that everyone has their own pace and speed at which they learn new material. From the novice programmer who has never written a line of code to the advanced student struggling with coursework expectations, my goal is to make students feel comfortable with what might otherwise be complicated ideas to ease their progress and to make sure to master the basics then master the advanced levels. Let me turn your C++ into an A++." less...
