"Chemistry can be tough, but it doesn’t have to feel impossible. With the right guidance, students can go from confused and frustrated to confident and capable — and that’s where I come in.
I am a certified 6–12 chemistry teacher in Illinois with a Master’s degree in Chemistry Education from Illinois State University. I taught high school chemistry for seven years, including honors and AP-level courses, before moving into industry. I currently work full-time as a lead chemist in a soil testing laboratory, managing a team and overseeing advanced analytical procedures. This combination of teaching and professional lab experience allows me to connect abstract concepts to real-world applications, which helps students truly understand why the material matters.
Subjects I Tutor:
•High School Chemistry (Regular & Honors)
•AP Chemistry (concepts, labs, test prep)
•College General Chemistry I & II
•Lab reports, study skills, and exam strategies
•ACT/SAT Science sections
My Teaching Approach:
I specialize in breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps. My sessions are interactive — students practice problems with me instead of just listening to explanations. I’m patient but also focused on building independence, so students leave with both knowledge and confidence. I often use examples from real chemistry work to show why the subject is practical and important.
What You Can Expect:
•Clear, simple explanations of difficult topics
•Problem-solving practice tailored to your course
•Study strategies that make a real difference
•A supportive learning environment where it’s safe to ask questions
Whether you’re preparing for the AP Chemistry exam, trying to survive a tough college gen chem class, or just need some extra support to pass high school chemistry, I can help. Let’s work together to make chemistry make sense." less...
