"Hi! I’m Muna, a junior at Rice University currently working toward my Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Literature and Literary Studies, with a minor in Religion. My coursework focuses on close reading, analytical writing, and literary interpretation. I have been tutoring high school students since 2019 and have also completed extensive academic and creative writing training through my work as a writer for Rice’s Journal of Public Policy, which began in late 2025. In early 2025, I was also selected as a Rice University Peer Academic Advisor (PAA), a testament to my ability to tutor fellow university students.

I have over two years of tutoring experience working with high school, elementary, and college students in English coursework, reading comprehension, and standardized test preparation, including the SAT Reading and Writing sections. I achieved a near-perfect SAT score in high school and currently have all A scores in my English classes at Rice. I also assist students in developing essays for classes and applications, focusing on clarity, structure, and authentic voice.

My teaching style is highly individualized. I focus on helping each student understand not just what to write or read, but how to think critically about language, argument, and meaning. I build lessons around each student’s unique interests and strengths to make sessions engaging and personalized. My students often tell me they leave sessions not only prepared to score higher in their classes, but also more articulate in expressing themselves.

I currently offer both virtual and in-person sessions in the Rice Village and West University areas. I’m passionate about helping students grow into thoughtful, effective communicators who can approach reading and writing with both skill and confidence.
