"I have a strong educational foundation that supports my ability to tutor in subjects such as math, English, and financial literacy. I am currently pursuing undergraduate studies in Finance at Boston University with coursework that emphasizes analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving, all of which are skills I actively apply when teaching. My academic background, combined with my involvement in finance- and education-related programs, has helped me develop the ability to break down complex concepts into clear, approachable explanations tailored to a student’s level of understanding.
I have hands-on teaching and tutoring experience with elementary-aged students in both structured and informal settings. I founded Wealth Wiz;, a financial literacy program at my local upper elementary school, where I taught students ages 10 to 11 foundational concepts such as saving, budgeting, and responsible spending. This experience required adapting financial ideas into engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities that encouraged participation and practical thinking. In addition, I have tutored children in my apartment community in one-on-one and small-group settings, teaching piano as well as math and English to students ages 8 to 10. These sessions focused on building confidence, reinforcing school material, and creating a supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s pace.
Through these experiences, I have learned how to adjust my teaching methods based on age, subject matter, and individual learning styles. Whether working in a classroom-style program or providing personalized instruction, I emphasize patience, clarity, and encouragement to help students understand concepts and feel confident in their abilities." less...
