"I have a B.S. in Chemistry with graduate work at ETH, Zurich, Switzerland, and at Rice University, Houston, as well as 10 years experience working in industry. I have an M.S. in Elementary Education, with a math specialty, and 8 years general teaching experience and 1 year teaching testing strategies in elementary school grades 3 & 5, 13 years teaching computer applications in middle school, and 1 year as a STEM (engineering) in high school. I have substituted in high school for 10 years, including long-term assignments in chemistry, environmental science, and English.

I have been tutoring at all levels for 1 year, with requests for continued tutoring of clients and their siblings for next year.

My goal with my students is to create understanding of the material and learning processes so that they can progress from needing a teacher or tutor to being self-reliant. If the student does not bring questions or work to complete, I create lessons based on their needs in the subject. If the student does bring questions or work to complete, I address the questions using examples, then have the student work similar problems.
