"Hi Students! My name is Christina S. I was born in Atlanta, GA but raised in Chicago, Illinois. "Go Bulls". I am a Talented Tutor successful at working with students of all backgrounds to improve comprehension, retention, and academic performance. Versed in developing individualized lesson plans to meet student needs and hone core skills. Skillful in applying techniques to foster academic progress while encouraging critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies and a minor in Sociology. I often get asked, what is a degree in Women's Studies? I simply replied, the study of women. After majoring in this field, I've realized that I'm a feminist. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching students because it gives me a sense of purpose.

I have three years of tutoring and one year of teaching experience. I've taught in a classroom setting overseas and it was exhilarating. The experience of teaching students of different nationalities and cultural differences has improved my teaching style as a teacher and a tutor. I am more equipped to accommodate students' needs and wants. My teaching platform is designed to be conducive to each student's needs.

The ability to think critically and use the scientific method to answer real-life scenarios. The ability to convey the engineering design process to help students to examine and investigate different Sciences curriculum. I enjoy teaching different types of Sciences such as; Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth Science and how one can apply Science to everyday situations.

Helping students improve the following basic reading skills: such as reading fluency, and vocabulary. Can improve one's proficiency in these skills, that will lead to increased comprehension, grammar, and writing. Basic trial and error approach through different teaching styles; learning what works or doesn't.
