"Dear Parents of Prospective students,

I am an experienced high school English teacher with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. I am organized, effective, and driven with innate abilities to understand an individual's zone of proximal development. My passion for education is matched by my motivation to inspire as many minds as possible. Creating an interesting, engaging, creative, and cohesive educational atmosphere are among my goals. Engaging young people in the act of thinking critically while fostering students’ independent strengths and encouraging them to work efficiently and excitedly maximizes their learning opportunities.

I am currently teaching and have taught: AP Literature in Composition, Contemporary Issues in Literature, 12th grade Senior English, 12th grade Reading and Writing Portfolio, English Honors 10/Sophomore English, SAT Prep Course, Regents Review Class at Ward Melville, and I am Writing Center Mentor. I have been a tutor for 25 years in all areas of ELA and all learning levels. In addition, I tutor students in college who need writing assistance, students writing college essays, and I am an SAT and ACT tutor. I graduated from St. Joseph's with my English teaching degree and Stony Brook with my Masters.

Tutoring has been a great passion-working one on one with young adults exhilarates me and when I know I have made a great difference in a students’ academics, test score, and confidence, I feel a great sense of satisfaction.
