"I have 20+ years of classroom and private music teaching experience. I attended college for 5 years as a music major. I was principal flutist with the San Fernando Valley Symphony and lead alto saxophonist with the Sons of Thunder jazz ensemble. I am also a composer and conductor. Three of my students which I taught in 3rd through 12th grades have graduated from Julliard. Many others have become professional musicians. I am also happy to teach students that do not wish to become professional musicians. I have children of my own, so I know how to teach all ages: three through adult. My time-tested approach for beginners is that they learn proper hand position and posture first while playing their instrument from day one.
