"Hi! I'm Dylan, a college sophomore who has spent the past 1.5 years tutoring elementary school students in reading, writing, and math through programs like Learning in Collaboration (LINC) and the Ignite Fellowship. In these roles, I've supported students both in-person and remotely, I worked with students on everything from phonics and vocabulary to grammar, reading comprehension, and foundational math. I've tutored both one-on-one and in small group settings, tailoring lessons to each student's needs. I've also created my own interactive materials to help students stay engaged, especially when tackling tricky grammar rules or multi-step word problems. I'm currently on the Dean's List, and my writing has been recognized through a nomination for the Sands Writing Award, a faculty-nominated academic honor at my college.
My tutoring approach is encouraging, structured, and always responsive to how each student learns best. I introduce new topics in clear, simple terms, practice them together, and then help students feel confident applying what they've learned independently. I love finding creative ways to make lessons click, whether that means turning vocabulary into a game or explaining math with real-life examples. My goal is to help students feel proud of their progress and supported every step of the way. More than anything, I care about making learning feel less intimidating and more like something they can genuinely enjoy." less...
