"I am a former full-time American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter with professional experience in educational, medical, and community-based settings. I also volunteered at the Braille Institute, where I supported DeafBlind individuals and gained valuable insight into accessible communication and adaptive support. While I am no longer working as an interpreter, I remain dedicated to promoting ASL learning and fostering respectful engagement with Deaf culture.

My teaching background includes facilitating group classes in baby sign language for parents and caregivers, as well as introductory ASL classes for adult learners. I currently provide individualized tutoring and practice sessions for students enrolled in ASL courses who are seeking additional support outside the classroom. My tutoring approach focuses on building confidence in fingerspelling, receptive skills, and conversational fluency, and I tailor each session to meet the learner’s specific goals, learning style, and level of experience.

As a hearing professional, I approach ASL education with cultural humility and a strong commitment to supporting Deaf-led leadership in the field. My role as a tutor is to supplement classroom learning, provide additional practice opportunities, and help learners develop confidence and consistency in their use of ASL.
