"Are you seeking personalized guidance on how to analyze a text, direct your research, and plan the content and structure of an essay, all while ensuring that the work is entirely your own? Would you like to have clear, prompt feedback on your writing that is far more detailed than “analyze,” “rephrase,” and “unclear?” Do you wish you could not only excel in your Latin or Ancient Greek class, but develop the skills that will enable you to read ancient texts with thorough understanding and enjoyment? If any of these questions resonate with you, I would be delighted to work with you.
I received my B.A. in Classics and philosophy from Swarthmore College, graduating with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa. I then received an M.A. in Classics from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from the University of Virginia, after which I practiced law for several years.
For more than ten years, I have worked with students in high school, college, and beyond in Classics (Latin, Ancient Greek, and literature in translation), English, French, German, and philosophy. AP exam preparation for Latin and English is a focus of my tutoring, and students who have worked with me steadily have scored 5s on their AP exams. In addition to providing guidance for coursework, I advise students pursuing independent studies and writing competitions.
I prepare thoroughly for each meeting so that my students receive the highest quality of instruction in the most efficient manner possible. My goal is for you to make meaningful progress, gain clear direction for further learning, and enjoy every time we work together." less...
