"Teaching is more than just a job for me—it’s a calling. I’m passionate about helping children grow not only in knowledge, but in confidence and independence. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching a student overcome a challenge and begin to believe in themselves.
After taking a gap year as an exchange student in Northern Italy—where I spent my free time tutoring children of all ages in English—I discovered a love for teaching that has stayed with me ever since. I went on to earn a degree in International Relations and Global Studies and an Honors degree in Italian Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, with a minor in Government.
Following graduation, I began working as a special education assistant at an elementary school and quickly fell in love with the field. That same year, I earned my teaching certifications in EC-6, Special Education EC-12, and the Science of Teaching Reading. I’ve now been teaching for three years in a self-contained K–5 special education classroom, where I work with students across a wide range of needs and abilities.
My teaching approach includes explicit modeling and the gradual release of responsibility, always with the goal of helping each child become as independent as possible. I have experience supporting both general education and special education students and love working with children of all ages. Whether I’m helping a child build foundational reading skills or supporting social-emotional growth, I believe in meeting each student where they are with patience, creativity, and high expectations." less...
